The DC Bridges kit pays tribute to two iconic bridges in the Nation’s Capital which opened more than 100 years apart. The main design was inspired by the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge which brings S. Capitol St. over the Anacostia River to Audi Field, the soccer-specific stadium which is home to the Washington Spirit and DC United. The interlocking DC in the crest was inspired by the letters carved into the Dumbarton Bridge which spans Rock Creek Park connecting Georgetown and Dupont Circle.
The kit raises funds for Building Bridges Across the River which provides residents East of the Anacostia River access to the best-in-class facilities, programs and partnerships in arts and culture, economic opportunity, education, recreation, health and well-being.
Upper 90 Studio designed the kit with inspiration from @unitednightout.
