Sam's Army Inaugural Charity Jersey

This inaugural charity jersey was inspired by our fearless leader, Sam Scherer. We lost Sam to an aggressive form of cancer called cholangiocarcinoma in August 2022. His positive energy and passion for life continues to flow through us all.
The jersey draws inspiration from some of Sam's favorite things. Influenced by the Germany 94' World Cup Kit (which Sam attended with his brother Steve), this combines the iconic collar design with the colors of what was to be Sam's new favorite team, St. Louis City SC. While Sam was unfortunately not able to attend a City game in person, we know he is with us every time we step into the stadium.
The Sam's Army team logo embodies the strength he displayed during his life and his battle with cancer. The Hellcat plane, drawing inspiration from Sam's love and fascination with war time machinery with a nod to the so called "mascot" of City SC.
This special edition jersey is in association with the first ever Sam-a-Palooza, being hosted in Shrewsbury, MO on June 14th, 2025. All jersey proceeds will be donated directly to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. For more information on the event and the foundation, please visit the following links:
